Wine from Mallorca
Mallorca was a wine island long before it became a holiday island. What grows here today is a rediscovery: small wineries, short transport distances, and grape varieties found almost exclusively here.
The wine-growing regions
The D.O. Binissalem is located in the island's interior at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains and produces structured, spicy wines. The D.O. Pla i Llevant in the east is characterized by more fruit and a salty note from the nearby sea.
Manto Negro, Callet and Prensal Blanc
Manto Negro yields soft red wines with notes of ripe cherry and Mediterranean herbs, while Callet offers a more elegant variation. Among the white wines, Prensal Blanc provides freshness without harsh acidity, making it ideal with grilled fish.
